Helping Our Seniors With Yard Work
KEEPING YOUR YARD CLEANED UP IS HARD WORK.
IT IS EVEN HARDER IF YOU ARE A SENIOR LIVING ALONE.
This is why Yard Clean-Ups are part of our DSCC Senior Services. Our volunteers will go out to seniors’ homes and rake leaves and pick up any trash or debris that has accumulated throughout the season and remove it. Our seniors can then enjoy a great-looking yard that they can safely enjoy.
How Do You Sign Up For A Yard Clean-Up?

Who Can Get A Yard Clean-Up?
Many of the seniors that we serve live alone in their homes. For those who are unable to clean up their leaves and yards, they can request that DSCC can come over to help clean up their yards. We’ll then send over our volunteers to clean up their yard. While we are there, we’ll check on them to make sure everything is OK.

Information For Volunteers
- You’ll be raking leaves, picking up sticks/ branches, flowerbed cleaning, and minor weeding.
- You’ll need to bring rakes & gardening gloves. We have a few rakes in our inventory if you need one.
- We provide yard stickers and lawn bags.
- All tasks are done on ground level. No work will involve ladders or step stools. No gutter cleaning, lawn mowing or tree cutting.
