Why We Love Our Volunteers
We are just coming off a Volunteer Celebration high that we just had at the end of July. For those who do not know this, we have a volunteer celebration every year to honor our volunteers and give them a special thank you for all of their hard work throughout the year. This year our Volunteer Celebration was electric and there was even more of a buzz in the room with our addition of Kane County. The celebration was an afternoon of fun, food drinks and amazing entertainment.
When looking around the room we noticed this was more than just a celebration but a gathering of our biggest supporters. Without our volunteers we would not be able to serve the thousands of seniors a year, for this we are forever grateful to each and every single person who participates in our programs and services.
Why we love our volunteers so much is because they make every encounter with a senior matter and have a personal connection with everyone they meet. Our seniors consider some volunteers as their family and can count on them to brighten their day. DSCC relies a tremendous amount on our volunteers to keep our services alive and running. They rise early mornings and work hard afternoons just to see a senior smile. For this a simple celebration does not express the amount of gratitude we feel towards our volunteers. DSCC would like to say thank you to all of our volunteers and give recognition to the volunteers who have left a large impact on the 2017-2018 volunteer year!
