Staff You Should Know – DSCC Enrollment Team
Here at DuPage Senior Citizens Council, we have a variety of programs dedicated to helping seniors live independently in their own homes. Our largest program is our Home-Delivered Meals program. On our staff, our Enrollment Team works hard daily on tasks to ensure everything goes smoothly within Home-Delivered meal operations. We spoke with members of our Enrollment Team to hear about their day-to-day at the main office, as well as some of their favorite parts of working at DSCC.
It’s Teamwork
We are a proud member of Meals on Wheels America and with the help of our volunteers, we deliver nutritious meals to our seniors Mondays-Fridays. Before our volunteers can deliver the meals, our Enrollment Team at the main office has their responsibilities and tasks to make sure the routes can be delivered as smoothly as possible. “Some of us focus on informational calls while others run reports or reach out to sites to let them know of any new people starting,” said one Enrollment Team member. Since we operate for both DuPage and Kane counties, our Enrollment Team is also in constant communication with both counties to make sure all 1,600 seniors in our program are taken care of.
Our Enrollment Team is just that – a team. They work together to make sure the whole operation runs smoothly. If one member is out of the office, the other staff step up and work together to make sure everything gets done for the day. “It’s teamwork.”
“Being the highlight of the seniors’ days is what makes everything worth it”
Working Towards Something Meaningful
One part of being in enrollment means the staff is in constant contact with our seniors and their families to ensure their safety and well-being. “Some of our team handle the Well-Being Checks and follow up to make sure everybody’s safe, making sure we have connected with each senior by the end of each day.” When we asked the team what their favorite parts of their job are, one responded, “The times when you talk to someone who is truly grateful. Being the highlight of the seniors’ days is what makes everything worth it.”
“It makes me feel good knowing that I work towards something that is meaningful for people,” said another.
We are so lucky to have a great team for enrollment who make sure to put the needs of our seniors as the top priority and make sure the daily operations of our Home-Delivered Meal program run smoothly.
