Older Adults Becoming Influencers On Social Media
All too often women state they do not get better with age and constantly gripe their male counter parts only get better looking as time goes on. There is a challenge women face when aging in a society that puts such high value on youth and beauty. Many social media outlets put emphasis on staying younger, looking younger and feeling younger, instead of embracing aging and becoming a new you.
Instagram is one of the most influential social media platforms, allowing people to share pictures of their experiences. 59% of the users on Instagram are younger than 29 years of age. Among the millions of users there are women who show aging doesn’t mean losing one’s independence and self.
