Now Is The Perfect Time To Donate
As the year draws to an end, businesses and individuals look to close out the year behind them and cast their vision to the new year ahead. For businesses, they tend to reflect on accomplishments and activities, like reaching goals or milestones. For others, however, it can be more personal.
For those who reflect on personal goals and ambitions, one question that is often asked is “Have I done enough to help others?”
If the answer isn’t a resounding yes, there is still time to help others this year.
Tax Time
Tax Day will be here before we know it. For many, paying taxes and losing control of where their money goes is a frustrating experience that often leaves a bad taste in their mouths.
In an ideal world, people could direct where their tax money goes. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t work that way. However, donating to a nonprofit gives people certainty as to who gets their money. As a bonus, donations to registered nonprofits can usually be written off from their taxes.
Donating to nonprofits allows taxpayers to have a say on where their money goes and helps those who need it the most.
Donating Where You Live
When you donate to any registered nonprofit, you will be making an impact on others. When you donate to a local nonprofit, you are also helping directly in the community where you live.
At DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) and Kane Senior Council (KSC), we serve seniors and their families who live in the communities within DuPage and Kane County. By donating locally, you can feel good knowing that your donation is used to serve neighbors and residents nearby. When you donate to DSCC and KSC, nearly 80 cents of every dollar you or your company gives directly fund the services provided to older adults within DuPage and Kane Counties.
Many of the services we provide are funded, in part, by individual and corporate donations. Without donations, seniors who rely on our services may be impacted.
Even though people donate because they care about others, there is also a tax incentive for their generosity. For individuals, donations are tax-deductible for up to 100 percent of their adjusted gross income.
For businesses, we recognize the impact their donations have on seniors in our communities. Beyond our gratitude, we offer organizations the opportunity to network with other organizations that support DSCC and KSC.
